60D is a great camera to learn DSLR, and it retains its resale value decently!
@76ers You should change your SD card. I bought the sandisk extreme pro specially made for video.
@tzagrath it looks like a manfrotto tripod with a manfrotto joystick head. Still would like to know the exact model no for both.

When I’m recording video on my 60D, the video automatically stops recording after 30sec. I don’t know why. Anyone?

That’s not correct - one can select AF points easily using joystick. AF need to be in Local mode.

“manually selecting AF points had to go thru the menu to set” – that’s not true! In Menu select Local AF and then you ar able to select AF point using joystick. same as on A700
would you reccomd it for a portrait photographer? Thats what i would mainly use it for..
I currently own a 400D and am looking to upgrade,

Tried the A77. EVF is definitely better than previous SLT models. But still suffer from the dragging effect when you pan it. Body feels light, can’t imagine the balance if you mount a heavy glass. Having tried 60D and D7000. The a77 lacks some useful buttons on the body. Like, metering button and manually selecting AF points had to go thru the menu to set, which is time consuming and pain in the arse.
